Buildings accommodating multiple occupants are mandated to have fire door inspections conducted by a qualified and certified professional. This individual assumes or supports the responsibilities of the designated "responsible person" as per regulatory requirements.
All communal fire doors, which play a critical role in containing fire outbreaks, undergo a thorough 10-point inspection process. This assessment includes checks on door gaps, hinges, seals, signage, and overall door integrity. Similarly, individual apartment doors are subject to annual inspections adhering to the same rigorous standards.
Comprehensive fire safety inspections also encompass emergency systems, including emergency lighting tests, smoke alarms, automatic opening vents (AOVs), fire panels, call points, risers, and fire escapes. These inspections are typically conducted on a monthly basis, depending on the building's height.
